Estrategias de sumar – Addition Strategies for Bilingual Students – Spanish!
In this pack are supplemental materials to teach your primary bilingual students the different strategies for addition facts.
This pack includes:
• Mini Posters for each strategy (in color and black-and-white)
• A student friendly flipbook with each strategy
• Worksheets to go along with each strategy that can be used as extra work, homework, or assessment.
Each strategy comes with an “I can statement” (Yo puedo…) so that the students know what is expected of them.

Solve addition and subtraction word problems, and add and subtract within 10, e.g., by using objects or drawings to represent the problem.

Decompose numbers less than or equal to 10 into pairs in more than one way, e.g., by using objects or drawings, and record each decomposition by a drawing or equation (e.g., 5 = 2 + 3 and 5 = 4 + 1).
