Description

Students will use distributive property and combining like terms when they use these matching cards to find equivalent expressions and situations. This activity also provides a practice worksheet and an exit ticket. as well as a second activity where students will evaluate expressions at a given value.

There are 9 sets of matching cards. Each set contains 3 cards: a situation matched with two different expressions that are both equivalent. You will simply need to copy them and cut them out for each student, or pair of students. There is also an answer sheet with a key if you prefer to have your students record their answers.

There is a practice homework assignment that asks students to match expressions with their simplified forms, as well as a short exit ticket. Answers keys are provided for both of these resources.
