Students will "Power Read" the passage. Meaning, read through it without stopping for questions, annotations, etc. You may do this as a class, in pairs, or independently. Then, students will highlight specific phrases based on what is asked of them in the activity (the step by step directions are very clear). Lastly, based on the reading and annotations, students will be able to answer HIGHER level thinking questions that align with the standards.
