What educators are saying

This resource is helpful and engaging. I have been working through the various jobs with my students focusing on jobs that they may have when they leave high school.
I love using this resource to help my students learn about different types of jobs and then I have them write a summary about the job and decide if they would like that job.

    Description

Save money and buy these two resources together to create an engaging year long activity! 55 career posters with simplified descriptions highlighting job sites, what they do, and skills needed along with visuals. Simplified reading comprehension questions highlighting job sites, what they do, skills needed, preferences and job interest. These are great for special education students looking to explore career interest options. The pictures depict individuals of different genders, ethnicities, and with disabilities!

    This comes with:

    • 55 entry level job posters
    • 55 worksheets (2 pages each)
      • Tracing
      • Multiple choice
      • Cut & Paste
    • 1 higher level worksheet (applicable to any job)
      • Write in the answers

    Ideas for use:

    • Post around your room
    • Put pages into a booklet
    • Focus on a new job each week (supplement with You Tube Videos)
    • Compare between two jobs each week
    • Use a job search engine website to read job listings and see local openings.
    • Supplement with job shadowing or job site observation forms.

Why I don’t include salary information in this resource:

    • The intention of this activity is to introduce different entry level job options for students that may have no experience or may possibly not graduate with a diploma.
    • While rate of pay/salary is an important aspect of a job, it should not be the focus when first building experience or figuring out what type of career students are interested in or qualified for.
    • Rate of pay/salaries can vary in each state/country, they constantly change, and may vary depending on how the job is structured.

Positions included: recreation attendant, barista, cashier, dishwasher, farm worker, host/hostess, landscaping worker, dry cleaner, busser, sales associate, auto detailer, florist, photographer, social media manager, production worker, pet caretaker, file clerk, food preparation worker, construction worker, grocery bagger, volunteer, cart pusher, housekeeper/maid, janitor/custodian, warehouse stocker, window cleaner, pool cleaner, musician, bellhop, receptionist, telephone operator, artist, data entry clerk, shelf stocker, model, waiter/waitress, catering staff, food sample demonstrator, dog groomer, referee, athlete, cheerleader, mascot, gamer, baggage handler, garbage collector, table games dealer, actor/actress, dj, entrepreneur, mechanic assistant, event coordinator assistant, mover, caregiver, video content creator ("You Tuber").
