The single paragraphs include one page with a biographical paragraph and 4 multiple-choice comprehension questions. The paired texts include one page with the same biographical paragraph along with another nonfiction paragraph about a related topic, and one page of 8 multiple-choice comprehension questions. The very last question asks students to compare or contrast both of the paragraphs. The questions include a variety of reading skills and are modeled after the types of questions on standardized reading tests.
