➂ BRAIN BREAKS:
This resource provides 47 pages of 12 detailed, how-to brain breaks with resources for your middle or high school class room. Perfect for all subjects. Some of these are designed to invigorate and some to relax teen minds.
When students’ minds become overloaded - brain breaks change the way their brains are functioning. These brain breaks can be used before, during, or after a lesson to enhance the learning experience. You can make them last for just a couple of minutes or broaden them to a mini-lesson. Some can be used over a few times to become a regular treat kids can look forward to. Also, use these as a springboard to think of extensions to create some of your own customized brain breaks.
For younger kids, brain breaks tend to focus on motor movement. More advanced teen minds respond to a broader range of activities, plus many teens are so self-conscious that asking them to do physical movements can be counterproductive. If physical movement is involved, it generally needs to be the right kind so as not to be potentially embarrassing to them.
