English Comprehension - A Career as a Plumber

A reading comprehension that challenges students' critical thinking and comprehension skills as they review careers information about becoming a Plumber.

The comprehension includes some key stats and information, a description of a 'day in the life' of that job role, and brief info on how to follow that career path.

Learners then need to answer a range of questions to check their understanding. The questions are built around the VIPERS reading prompts and so challenge learners to look at new vocabulary, make inferences, make predictions, explain, retrieve information and summarise.

The resource is fully editable in PowerPoint format so you can tailor the challenges to the specific needs of your pupils. 

Ideal to use as a class for a comprehension in an English lesson, during tutor time for 15 minutes or as a homework activity.

Our resources have been created by teachers in the UK. As a result, you may find some use of British symbols, terminology and spelling. However, we are confident these should not detract from the value of using the resource with students in the US and each resource is fully editable should you wish to make any amendments.
