Description

The End of the Year Math Goofy Glyph is an activity where students can hone their abilities in mathematics while putting together a fun art project that you can showcase on your classroom wall. Whether your students answer the questions right or wrong will dictate the way their glyphs look in this potentially silly activity. They will end up with a fun certificate stating they are student of the year, or if they answer their math problems wrong, they may get award that says they love bacon! You can use these certificates as an end of the year award, reward, or certificate. Your students are sure to have a fun time with this activity!

The math problems in this glyph are aligned with the Common Core State Standards for third grade mathematics.

Common Core State Standards (CCSS) covered:

  • 3.OA.7 - adding and subtracting within 1000
  • 3.NBT.2 - multiplying within 100

At the back of this booklet are art templates that your students can use to help design their glyphs; otherwise, they can choose to create their own artwork. There are also three writing and drawing activities included at the back of this book, and a graph that you can use to demonstrate how the students in your class answered the different questions in the glyph.
