Description
End of the Year Activity for Social Studies. Looking for a way to keep your students engaged and still learning as the school year winds to a close and their excitement for summer vacation is at full capacity? Well then this might help. I've used this research activity as way to give students the opportunity to reflect back on the year they've just experienced!
Using a variety of sources such as newspapers, magazines, CNN Student News online archive videos, and other news sources online students conduct a guided research project based on major news stories from the local, state, national, and world level. They can include stories from sports, entertainment, and politics that had a big impact on the world.
You can either give the completed booklets back to students when they are done or you can keep them for years to come to show your future students. Kids are a little more willing to be creative when they know that they'll be part of your classroom library of history.
This is available in FOUR different versions to meet your classroom needs:
-Paper Version in .pdf
-MS Word
-MS PowerPoint
-Google Drive Version - fully editable
