End of the Year 10 Day Countdown {Literacy Fun & K-5 Editable Diplomas}

* Pencil-less Day: Students use crayons, markers or pens for the day. Cost: FREE {Writing Activity: Prompt- Write about not using pencils. Draw a Picture page included}

* Roll-Away! Let's Have a Ball Today! Cost: FREE Students can bring in a ball from home. {Activities Included: Create a favorite ball graph, 3 Writing Prompts: Home Run! What are you going to do at home this summer? Rolling into _ Grade! Write about how you feel about going to the next grade. Set High Goals! Write about what goals you have for next year.

* Read Outside Day! Cost: FREE Perhaps have students bring a beach blanket to read outside. Literacy Activities Included: Compare and Contrast Reading Inside and Reading Outside, Writing Prompt: Write a letter to your teacher next year to persuade him or her to let you read outside everyday.

* Beach Bumming! No Shoes Today! Cost: FREE {Literacy Activities Included: Writing prompt: Prompt 1: Rockin with no Shoes! Write about what it feels like to not wear shoes in class. (Note: I like to read "Rockin in my White Shoes" as a tie) Prompt 2: Steps to a Great Year! Write about the steps to a great year. Graphic Organizer: So Cool! No Shoes! Write describing words.

* So Cool, You've Got to Wear Shades Day: Cost: FREE Only if they have sunglasses to bring. I always bring a few from home. I have three little ones so that's easy for me. I've seen other teachers buy a class set at the $1 Store for just a buck each. 3 Writing Activities Included.

* Director's Chair: Sit Where ever you want day! 3 Writing Activities and 1 Compare and Contrast.

* Bubble Gum Day! Cost: $5 or have a bag donated. I buy 2 bags of different flavored gum: A Compare and Contrast activity is included that you can tie the 2 kinds of gum to. Bubble Gum Day Writing Reflection Activity.

* Lunch and a Movie: Cost: FREE or you may need to rent one. 2 Movie Response Sheets included.

* "Bee" a Dance Star Day! Cost: FREE Play fun music and let them get their groove on. 1 Writing Reflection and 1 Graph to make of their Top 5 favorite songs.

* Diploma Day: Editable Customizable Diplomas: Student and Teacher Names can be added right to the pdf page. I have open fields for your editing and printing pleasure. That's Right! You can type your name, their name and date right to the page. Diplomas are for Kindergarten through Fifth.

Posters for each day come as 8 1/2 x 11 or 4 to a page. The bulletin board next to my door was decorated with balloons. I just taped them on. I put the 1/4 sheet in each balloon. On the outside of each balloon, I wrote 10 Days Left, 9 Days Left, and so on. It makes for a fun, daily greeting!
