Description

I created this "Field Day" resource to review the elements of drama with students AND teach them about good sportsmanship and friendship in the midst of competition! It's perfect for an end-of-the-year activity before summer break. Your students will ask to perform it again and again!

This resource provides everything you need to teach/review the drama genre to your students in the classroom, library, homeschool, drama club, or beyond!

This BEST-SELLING product includes:

  1. Vocabulary Cards: These 12 terms related to dramas are printable for a word wall, or cut them apart and use them in a matching game.
  2. "Field Day" Drama Script: This 13-page drama includes a cast of 22 characters (14 speaking, 8 non-speaking) with dialogue for average and below-average readers, stage directions, and 2 acts with 3 scenes per act. I also included a page to help you assign parts to students for reading aloud/performance of the drama.
  3. Two Different Tests, including:
    1. Elements of Drama Test: 10 questions that assess students' understanding of elements of a drama and theme; a couple of multi-select questions will help prepare students for future Common Core standardized tests. The multi-select questions explicitly tell students to circle all the answers that apply (similar to the wording they will see on CCSS standardized tests). Answer Key included.
    2. "Field Day" Comprehension Test: 10 questions that assess students' understanding of the setting, characters, and plot of the "Field Day" drama. Answer Key included.
  4. Standards: 4th and 5th grade CCSS and TNReady Standards are listed on separate pages.
