Elementary Art - Abstract Cats

This lesson introduces the artist Laurel Burch to students while teaching them the difference between abstract art and realistic art. I've used this powerpoint presentation with grades K - 2 and have had great success when following it up with a guided drawing lesson of a basic cat. From there, students use what they learned from viewing Laurel Burch's cats to add interesting colors, shapes and designs.
