Description
This digital breakout activity, similar to an escape room but without the need for physical locks, is all about electric circuits! Students do not need any prior knowledge about circuits to do this breakout, though you can also use it as a review or for extra practice. In this resource, students will:
- Learn about circuits (7 slides of informational text), including about electricity (including behavior at the atomic level), insulators and conductors, open and closed circuits, series and parallel circuits, and Ohm's law.
- Solve 6 digital puzzles related to these concepts (a variety of puzzle types are included, from image puzzles, to ciphers, to demonstrating learned knowledge)
- Use technology skills to complete the activities (entering text into Google Slides, Google Forms, rotating objects, clicking and dragging objects).
- Use creative problem solving skills to decode the puzzles.
- Complete follow-up activities to demonstrate subject mastery (printable, optional).
Please note: I have marked this resource for grades 6-8, but you may wish to use it with either younger students who have already been exposed to some circuits or with high schoolers for whom this topic is new. If you are looking for a simpler circuits activity, please go here: Digital Breakout for Circuits - Elementary
