Description

Looking for a print-and-go resource for teaching about the election process that's well-organized and easy-to-use? This is it!

This 58-page resource makes the election process easy for teachers to use and easy for students to learn. Whether your instruction of the election process covers a few days or a few weeks, this flexible unit can be adapted to meet your needs.

Each lesson focuses on a single aspect of the election process. Lessons can be used in sequence, or teachers can pick and choose which content to cover. The nine (9) unit lessons present complex information using clear, student-friendly language. Lessons include highlighted vocabulary and review activities. Also incorporated on the student pages are special "Be a Learning Detective" activities that encourage a variety of forms of expression. Students' responses-- drawings, writing, or calculations-- become part of the content, which reinforces text-to-self connections.

Lessons encourage students to be creative, independent thinkers and writers. All lesson activities are easy for students to complete and check-- independently, in pairs, or whole class. Students can easily prepare for the unit's final assessment by compiling and reviewing their lesson worksheets and handouts.

This resource includes:
