Description

I created fictional Facebook pages for important leaders in ancient Egypt including Menes, Khufu, Imhotep, Ramses the Great, and Queen Hatshepsut. They include status updates, "friends", likes and comments just like a real Facebook page. The status updates and comments on each persons "wall" helps give students an idea of who they were, why they were important, when they took power, who they were related to, when they died, and what they achieved. Topics covered within the "Facebook" pages include the afterlife, mummification, achievements of each person, social hierarchy in Egypt, trade, Egyptian gods, pyramids, and much more. Please be aware there are comments/posts that may contain slang phrases (obviously no profanity). This zip file contains 5 QR codes that lead you to each of the Fakebook pages and a chart students can fill in as they are looking over the pages. The chart asks students to list the person's name, time period of rule, achievements, and other facts. I did this activity in timed stations. I hope you can enjoy this activity just as much as we did!
