Description

Hello Kindergarten Teachers! My Kindergarten Report Card Comment product is an editable template for all 4 quarters, including the end of the year comments! This 21 page memory bank of report card comments includes on target and concern comments in reading, writing and math, ESL/ELL/ML comments, social emotional and behavioral comments, and areas for growth for the next quarter. Also, my memory banks give you the "bones" for writing some of those harder comments that need to be direct and to the point. Make sure to check out the rest of my ASSESSMENT REPORTS, KINDERGARTEN READINESS, KINDERGARTEN DATA TRACKING SHEETS, AND REPORT CARD TEMPLATES here: Assessment and Organization

Here is an example of a Quarter 1 Report Card Comment:

"Bob has adjusted well to the routines and expectations of kindergarten. Bob is working on self-control and managing impulses. Bob needs multiple redirections to remain quiet when expected, sit appropriately, and attend to activities to expectations. Bob can attend to activities for 3 minutes and is working on following directions and completing tasks in a timely fashion. Academics and work performance are impacted by Bob’s attention to task. Bob can name 23 uppercase letters, 19 lowercase letters, and 21 letter sounds, Bob can read 8 out of 40 sight words. Bob can blend syllables and sounds to create new words. Bob can clap syllables in words and identify words that rhyme. Bob is beginning to identify the beginning sounds of a word. Bob is working on handwriting skills, learning to write letters starting from the top. Bob writes with a mature tripod grasp and can use scissors appropriately. As the quarter, has progressed his penmanship legibility has improved, and Bob can print many uppercase and lowercase letters. Bob can legibly write his name. When given a sound, Bob can write the letter he hears. Bob is beginning to spell words by how they sound. In Math, Bob rote counts to 39 and correctly counts objects to 12 and writes the number counted. Bob can sort, identify what group has more/less, and write how many are in a group when presented with a small amount. Bob is showing good number sense with amounts 0 – 10. In the next quarter, we will be working on 2D and 3D shapes, continuing to make progress towards knowing all 26 uppercase/lowercase letters and all letter sounds, counting aloud to _____+ and writing 1-2 sentences with a combinations of sight words and some CVC words. I would like to see your child work on seeing tasks and activities to completion, staying at a designated area until completion. I also would like to see your child work on writing words at home, focusing on beginning and ending sounds. I appreciate your support and communication. Bob is doing an excellent job in full day Kindergarten!"

Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
