- PDF
Description
This program is designed for use within a verbal behavior card sort system which research has proven an effective approach to teaching verbal behavior to students with Autism. Having premade programs makes it easier to implement with students quickly. You can easily adapt by adding or deleting a specific target based on individual needs. Organization minimizes prep time and maximizes student learning. Many of the programs were created to meet objectives found within the VBMAPP assessment.
This program was designed to expand the learner's echoic repertoire by targeting words to teach a student to repeat what they hear others say. Evidence explains that echoic skills build the foundation in the acquisition of language. Echoics are a precursor skill to other operant skills. For example, it is imperative that students can echo the name of an item before attempting to teach them the tact for the item.
This program contains echoic lists and cards. These programs directly correspond to a tact and listener response program. These cards are usually printed on yellow paper. The prompt staff should give is in quotations and the target is underlined.
