What educators are saying
Description
This math resource (Set of 10) includes images connected to Easter.
You can use the problem-solving pages in this math document for:
- Morning Bell Work
- Daily Morning Math Teasers
- Cooperative Problem-Solving (Groups)
- Math Workshop Warm-Ups
- Math Journals
- Independent Math Centers
- Small Group Guided Practice
- Informal Assessments
On each page, students apply problem-solving strategies to determine the number (sum or difference) that should be in the colored box.
There are many “unknowns” per page, so I have taught my students to look for the one equation on the page that CAN be solved using the given information and then work from there. Remind students to pay attention to the signs in each equation… sometimes they change.
The pages increase in difficulty from the beginning to the end of the packet. Some of the harder problems will be easier if the students remember what they know about sums of ten or doubles facts. Some problems are the foundation of beginning multiplication. Children who are already learning multiplication facts may recognize the connection, especially with some prompting.
An Answer Key has been provided on the last page.
