Description

This lab uses FREE small USPS flat rate boxes to model buildings in a earthquake zone.

You can pick them up for FREE from your local post office, or have them delivered in bulk to your school.

Challenge your students to produce buildings that would withstand more earthquake forces. You can also have your students use TinkerCAD to model their home.

Your students then modify their building to withstand a greater magnitude earthquake. You can expand this into a building project like the toothpick bridge, or add force meters or a seismograph to measure the force of your earthquake.

Easel Activity & Assessment

Easel Activity allows you to assign to a device so the students can do this lab at home or in an art room!

A 4 question Easel Assessment has been added to this lab. This makes for a great lab exit ticket.
