My students were very engaged with this activity. It took quite a bit of scaffolding to make it work for my EC students. Beware- it did require quite a bit of prep work.
Activity worked well. The students had to piece together the puzzles. It reinforced topics taught and was minimal prep.
Description
Get your students excited about review with this low prep escape room activity! Can your students beat the clock and escape in time?!? This activity includes an engaging scenario and 4 easy to prep review puzzles. Students work through each puzzle and when they have solved it correctly, they will get a code to “unlock” the next clue and puzzle.

This activity focuses on reviewing the content covered in Earth science and includes questions about:
Plate Tectonics
Earthquakes and Volcanoes
Water Cycle
The Atmosphere
Weather
Needed Materials:
Printed worksheets (all included in the product)
Envelopes or bags to hold the clues (4 per group)
Computers (optional) for students to “unlock” documents to get the next clue. This activity can be done without computers.
Timer or clock
Required Prep: Printing, laminating (optional), cutting
Puzzle Overview:
Puzzle #1: Organization Station – Students organize vocabulary into assigned categories.
Puzzle #2: Triangle Puzzle – Students match up sides of the triangle puzzle based on content questions and clues.
Puzzle #3: Card Sort – Students sort and sequence cards based on included directions.
Puzzle #4: Question Code Breaker – Students answer 10 content based multiple choice questions to get their code.
IMPORTANT:
Your download includes 5 documents in a zip file and contains: 1 main PDF document with directions and puzzles + 4 locked pdf documents. Students will unlock the PDF documents with codes contained in the answers to the puzzles. The passwords to these PDF documents are included in the main PDF document in the teacher directions section.
