What educators are saying

These are a great way to work on both of the standards with very little prep work. The kids like boom cards and I like that it is easy to see how they did and if they understand the concepts.

    Description

This resource features five different Boom Learning decks with a focus on Earth Changes.

There are studies that show if a child predicts an answer, they have a better chance of remembering the actual answer. It’s a brain strategy known as predicting. I’ll bet you’ve done this while watching trivia shows on TV like Jeopardy or Millionaire!

These Earth Changes task cards are based on this Predicting Strategy. Each BOOM deck contains 25 cards. Each card gives a statement about wildfires, landslides, hurricanes, tornadoes, thunderstorms, earthquakes, or volcanoes. The students figure out whether the statement is true or false. It's so much fun, the children don't realize they're practicing important reading skills or learning about important earth changes!

Boom Cards are easy for the teacher and fun for the children!

    • These can be played on computers or tablets, give immediate feedback to the children, and detailed data for the teacher.

    More information about BOOM cards:

Boom Cards play on modern browsers (released in the last three years) on interactive whiteboards, computers, and tablets. Boom Cards apps are also available.
