Early Childhood Education Program Brochure Project
- Google Docs™
Description
In this individual project, students will design a digital or paper brochure for an early childhood education program or school. This project will allow students to create the basis of their own program!
The project details include a checklist of requirements for the cover and panels of the brochure including a welcome message, staff bio, program features, teaching approach, and more. Students may complete their project digitally or on paper, but will need to understand the basics of each of type of ECE program before beginning. I would recommend making this a summative project to conclude a unit over the types of ECE programs! Or, all students can base their program after one specific type they're learning about such as a Family Child Care.
I would recommend allowing students to complete this project over several days, most likely taking up to four 50-minute class periods in order to include all the information.
As this resource is a Google Doc, it is completely editable! I had my students choose from a Family Child Care, Child Care Center, Head Start, or Montessori school/program, but you could edit the requirements. A rubric and a basic example is also included. Note that the preview is an example "outline" for what the project could look like. I allowed my students to reference the example and mimic the layout.
Tip: I use the Working with Young Children textbook (2020 version), and this project fits quite nicely with the content from Chapter 2.
