Description

Thank you for your interest my ESL Spanish/English Holes Unit! This thematic unit can be adapted to a non ESL classroom or used as scaffolding for EL students within a mainstream classroom. I gave my students both the English and the Spanish books.

Here is the bundle of my entire Holes Friendship Thematic Unit.

The first half of the book I focus on luck, coincidence, and destiny and how that relates to Stanley ending up at Camp Green Lake, or the influences in the other boys’ lives in Tent D. We also talked about the “curse” that was put on Stanley’s family.

The Second half of the book I focus on the bond and friendship that Zero and Stanley Create. Ultimately, at the end of the book, we tie together both ideas in writing our scaffolded essay about how Stanley and Zero were influenced by destiny, and how they created their own destiny.

Overall, this thematic unit follows a pattern that will help students deeply think about the text as well as create their own ideas of the text. If you buy the bundle, everything you need is in that bundle that I used with my own students.
