Description
Bigger kids like stations too, but often times these stations aren't rigorous enough for grades 3-5. I created these stations with that thought in mind. Many of these activities require students to figure out the meaning of words using context clues or definitions provided.
**I use these stations in my 3rd grade classroom and they are difficult for some students to use. They do not get all of the answers correct the first time, but with the nature of the product, they go back and look at the clues provided, and figure it out for themselves. Please look at the preview to determine whether these activities will work for your students.
Included in this pack you will find practice with:
‣ABC order: Students sort file folder cards to arrange names in ABC Order. 2 sets included, color and black/white version
‣Synonyms: Students read a sentence card that contains an underlined word. Using the context clues from the sentence, they must determine a synonym for the underlined word and cut/glue it in its correct place.
‣Antonyms: Students read a sentence card that contains an underlined word. Using the context clues from the sentence, they must determine an antonym for the underlined word and cut/glue it in its correct place.
‣Homophones: Students read sentences that contain 2 homophones. They use "phone cards" to determine which homophone fits in the sentence, and circle their choice on the recording sheet. They then write a sentence using the homophone they did not circle.
‣Guide Words: Students cut and paste guide words in their correct location. 2 activities included.
