What educators are saying

My students loved this resource! They were engaged with this resource! It didn't take time to prepare for this resource, so it was easy for me to use in a time crunch. I adapted it a little bit for my students!
This is a great way to practice with my gifted readers. It led to some great vocabulary discussions as well. Thanks !

Description

What's In This Product?

This product allows teachers to enter their OWN multisyllabic words to create a fun multisyllabe game for students!

-This product helps teachers strengthen students’ reading fluency of multisyllabic words. It is easy to differentiate each Fluency Game Mats by entering words with the same number of syllables: compound, 2-, 3-, 4-, 5-, 6-, and 7 syllable words.

-Click “save as” in order to use this template again and again, i.e. for creating differentiated fluency mats: compound, 2-, 3-, 4-, 5-, 6-, and 7 syllable words.

Directions for Playing

1. Group students by their ability to read words with a various number of syllables.

2. One student rolls a die and reads the column of words that matches the number on the die.

3. Pass the die to the next student.

4. Repeat above steps for a certain amount of time, or until all students have read all columns.

Optional Challenge: Give students a hand-held timer and encourage them to beat their own time when they read the same column a second time.

Remember: Students can also play this game independently as long as they have been exposed to the words and are able to independently use a decoding strategy.

Terms of Use: This product is licensed to the purchaser to use in ONE classroom only. The product may not be distributed to other teachers in any format.
