  • Introductory Experiment: Hypothesizing and testing which shape is the strongest and how much weight they can carry (template available)
  • Advance Experiment: Students will construct the test the durability of a shape by creating an entire structure using their selected shape.

Lesson 2: How to Earthquake Proof Buildings & Structures

Discover the affects of an earthquake and identify the factors incorporated to building earthquake proof buildings.

  • Experiment: Incorporating the different factors into building their own LEGO structures and test the durability of their structure on the shake table (Shake Table is also made by the students)

Lesson 3: The strength of materials

Understand the importance of materials used in buildings.
