A system created by Robert Cohen from his book, Acting One, guides beginner actors in understanding a script through character analysis and the ability to implement these skills to develop a character.

This 21 slide presentation includes the gradual release of responsibility method (GRR) and starts with focused instruction, guided instruction, collaborative learning, independent learning, and then assessment. This is a great unit to introduce character analysis before your students dive into performing monologues!
