Description
“Drain the Ocean” is a documentary series that aired on National Geographic. The episodes use underwater scanning technology, historical and scientific data, and digital imagery to explore and reveal shipwrecks, treasures, and other items that are found deep underwater. Each video is approximately 40-45 minutes in length and would be a great addition to any CTE or STEM class.
The “Drain the Bermuda Triangle” episode discusses how sonar mapping is used to map the ocean floor, the finding of a missing group of airplanes from World War II, and new technology used to solve Bermuda Triangle mysteries, including a wave tank ocean simulator and underwater vehicles called ROVs.
