What educators are saying

One of my favorite activities to do with my gifted 3rd graders. I love seeing what they come up with and as the year has gone on their drawings have gotten more complex and creative.
My students loved this activity! We are working on Divergent Thinking and this went perfectly with the lesson I used. Thank you!

Description

Divergent thinking is the process of generating multiple ideas about a given problem or topic—encouraging curiosity, multiple perspectives, pushing past the obvious answer, probing deeper, and being a risk-taker.

What is included?

  • Pre Assessment and Post Assessment provide you with a way to watch how much your students grow in divergent thinking throughout the year.
  • 18 additional doodling exercises for year-long fun
  • Each page includes 4 identical doodles for students to transform into different ideas. Encourage your students to look at the doodles from different perspectives by turning the page and looking at them from different angles and viewpoints.

Use your Divergent Doodles to integrate social and emotional learning goals by having a group or classroom discussion. Students will learn to listen to and understand different perspectives and ideas, praise and appreciate one another, and share and celebrate their own creative and unique ideas, as well as the ideas of others.
