What’s Included:
“Wh” Detective game: the aim of this game is to teach children the three semantic categories that make up a Subject-Verb-Object sentence. The student needs to find all of the "wh" words in order to uncover a missing treasure chest! A fun and motivating game to teach the categories and colours of Colourful Semantics.
Sentence Builder game: The aim of this game build a Subject-Verb-Object sentence to describe a picture. The child is asked “who” “what doing” and “what” questions until they form a full sentence . There are multiple opportunities to model sentences and have your student produce sentences. The repetition and visual nature of this game will help your student to learn three semantic categories and form SVO sentences confidently!
The colours used in this pack are as follows:
WHO = orange
WHAT DOING = yellow
WHAT = green
Colourful semantics is a therapy approach created by Alison Bryan. It helps children understand how the meanings of words are linked in sentences. Each semantic category/word type is colour coded.
