We combined our Investigating the Effects of Dissolved Oxygen on Fish Lab with our Aquatic Ecosystem Reading Passage. This should give teachers a complete unit to help you save time on your planning and give you flexibility. We love a lab before we start teaching the vocab. Word maps, comprehension questions, and links to explore further will help enhance the unit.

The fish lab is a PDF file. The science reading comprehension file is a Google Slide. You will get the link in the download. The slides contain text boxes for digital and also slides for printing. This should give you lots of flexibility and the ability to integrate hybrid students into the classroom.

We estimate this to be a 1-2 week long unit depending on how often you meet with the students and if you do everything in both lessons.

The lab and reading passage also work well for Grades 6, 7, and 8.
