What educators are saying
I used this lesson for my Intro to Business class. The student had fun coming up with the characters that needed to fit the specific target market. Overall my classes had a great time with this assignment.
Description
This is one of my favorite marketing projects. It takes 4-5 hours to complete and is ideally used to introduce or review the ideas of market segmentation and target marketing. Essentially, students brainstorm and divide the characters of the Disney universe into market segments (like charming princes, loyal sidekicks…etc). Once they have some well-defined market segments (and “faces” that fit those segments), students (in partners) plan a way to best-reach those segments in order to sell them a Proctor & Gamble product (shampoo, lotion, laundry detergent…etc.) Then, they create advertising media and packaging intended to reach their target market.
Included:
- Google Slides presentation to use on Day 1 for brainstorming & project overview, and samples.
- Google Document planning guide for students to use on Day1 / Day 2 to plan their campaign
- Google Document rubric to share with students and assess projects.
- Day-by-day instructions for teacher administration
