Discovering Operations with the If You Give a Man Some Hands ebook

This 41 page activity packet contains a fun ebook that uses the same domino effect that other books like If You Give a Mouse a Cookie use. It explains intuitively how we developed our number system and operations - from counting to addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

It also contains the Illustrator's Workbook, a "blank book" that your students can draw their own illustrations in. Since the book uses "stick figures," children are encouraged to draw regardless of their skill level.

It also has two pages of discussion questions that you can use to start conversations of discovery with your students.

As a bonus, there's also a list of math resources (for you or to send home to parents) as well as a reprint of the article “10 Tips for Teaching Math."
