My Handwriting Without Tears® style worksheets not only offer the dinosaur unit study you are wanting to bring to your classroom, but they also give your students the familiar letter stroke format they are accustomed to. For optimal results, it is so important to keep your handwriting practice curriculum consistent. With these Handwriting Without Tears® style dinosaur worksheets, you can do just that.
This dino unit comes with two different styles of handwriting practice worksheets:
- a themed focal word
- copywork
1. The focal word practice is prehistoric themed (example: pterodactyl, Jurassic, paleontologist, etc.), and offers an additional area on the worksheet for learning about that word as well as a coloring activity. On each worksheet, the student will practice writing each word four times. The repetition will greatly increase their spelling and handwriting skills while allowing for improvement with every attempt.
2. The second style of practice worksheets is the copywork. Copywork is simply writing down a sentence or passage from an example. While children copy from this example, they can concentrate on punctuation, correct spelling, and penmanship because they aren’t busy composing the sentences themselves. There are many benefits to copywork. When your students does daily copywork, it greatly improves their muscle memory. The physical act of writing stimulates muscle memory and helps the student transfer letter formation and spelling to long-term memory. When they are doing copywork, it not only improves their handwriting, it also improves their spelling, punctuation, and reading skills. The copywork pages in this unit is appropriately themed and includes interesting (age appropriate) facts about dinosaurs.
This practice set includes TWO versions:
- The traditional two-lined version as seen in the Handwriting Without Tears® curriculum
- The familiar three-lined version used in most primary level curriculums
