What educators are saying

I used this to help some students with last-minute ACT prep and I think it helped them to feel more prepared. Moving forward, I will be incorporating it into my own classroom as I transition into teaching students who will be all be taking the ACT.
I am using this resource to review ACT skills with my 11th grade students. The Google Forms have just enough information to explain the grammar skill and perfect questions to practice the skill. It is very engaging and makes it easy for me to see which skills they need to work on the most.

Description

This resource is a digital 30 Day English ACT Prep Workbook that covers grammar topics on the ACT and various other skills needed to perform well on the test. This resource is a set of 30 Google Forms that each include a text box with the daily lesson, practice questions, and a practice passage. The workbook is broken down into 6 weeks (5 days a week). The first lesson is a practice test. All Google Forms have the correct answer for immediate feedback to the student after form submission.

This resource is completely digital. There are no print out worksheets. If you want this resource printable, check out this resource.

All questions and topics in this workbook are derived from old ACT tests unless specified otherwise.

This resource is structured as a six week, five days a week, workbook. Each day

includes lesson review, let's practice, skills to know, and ACT BLITZ problems.

  1. Lesson Review: This is the lesson for each day. I include practice problems, which are derived from old test questions, and explain those questions' answers. I also try to work through each question just like I would on the actual test. I also included a daily tip in the lesson review, which was often a simplified sentence relating to the lesson. The tips are often the big takeaways from the lesson. The list of topics covered in the lessons is below. The lessons usually explain the topic significance on the test, how the test may ask questions, and how to work a question about that topic.
  2. Let's Practice: These are the practice questions to apply the lesson review for each day. The number of practice questions depends on the length of the lesson review. Many of the practice questions are simplified test questions.
  3. Skills to Know: This section helps students practice skills that need more repetitive practice. These skills also do not have particular or absolute rules for every case, so it is best for students to practice these skills often and in different scenarios. Each topic is explained briefly with question explanations, and there is often practice for the skill.
    1. Skills covered in Skills to Know:
      1. Timing
      2. Parallelism
      3. Commonly Switched Words
      4. Word Choice (transition words; prepositions; specific word choice)
      5. Is it a full sentence?
      6. Moving through the passage
      7. Identify the subject
      8. Removing prepositional phrases
      9. Comma practice
      10. Punctuation practice
      11. Remove the repetition
      12. Parallel Voice
      13. Who vs Whom
      14. Possessives
      15. Sentence Revision
  4. ACT BLITZ: This portion applies the lessons and skills to ACT-type questions. There is a mini passage for each day, which includes five questions. Students should read the ACT BLITZ just like they would the passage on the test. This will help them with test timing and confidence. The BLITZ is structured so that there are rarely ever questions that the student has not learned in the lessons. All the questions are derived from real ACT tests.
