Description

These differentiated geo board task cards specifically help students master partitioning larger shapes into composite shapes.

Within this resource, there are 3 levels of task cards each with 12 tasks, helping to meet the needs of every learner in your classroom.

This resource includes:

*Visual Directions for center

*3 Levels of Task Cards

-Level 1 asks students to build a specific geometric shape with a visual support.

-Level 2 asks students to build a named shape and partition it as shown on the task card.

-Level 3 shows students a shape and asks them to partition that shape into smaller, named shapes.

Compose two-dimensional shapes (rectangles, squares, trapezoids, triangles, half-circles, and quarter-circles) or three-dimensional shapes (cubes, right rectangular prisms, right circular cones, and right circular cylinders) to create a composite shape, and compose new shapes from the composite shape.

CCSS1.G.A.3

Partition circles and rectangles into two and four equal shares, describe the shares using the words halves, fourths, and quarters, and use the phrases half of, fourth of, and quarter of. Describe the whole as two of, or four of the shares. Understand for these examples that decomposing into more equal shares creates smaller shares.
