    Zodiac Table in Microsoft Word

    Description

This resource includes 9 differentiated Microsoft Word resources (including one free bonus) that you can use for all learners: mainstream, Special Ed, beginner English Language Learners (ELLs), and low readers.

I learned to create these resources when I struggled to meet the needs of all of my students. I've worked in very diverse schools, frequently with many low-income students. I spent HOURS searching online for assignments I could use with all of my students and found absolutely nothing.

All activities are differentiated with written directions, screencast video help, examples, and answer keys or editable rubrics. For teachers, How to Use This Resource and guidance for working with and grading diverse students are included.

Post these resources on your LMS, print some hard copies for students who like to work from paper, and you're set!

I've used these materials in my own classes for all students, from mainstream students who can't remember NOT having a computer to a student who knows only the alphabet and can use a mouse.

These activities are an introduction to Word but cover more than just basic Word skills.

    This bundle includes:

    · Name Card: Work with shapes, images, and page orientation. Can be used as a first day activity that helps you learn student names.

    · Differentiated Word Vocabulary: Includes differentiated study guides, crossword puzzles, word searches, fill-in-the-blanks, and tests.

    · Working with Folders: Helps students find their work!

    · Block Business Fan Letter: Write a letter to someone you admire, using letterhead.

    · Basic Table in Word: Insert WordArt into a table row, adjust row height, insert images, add a page border.

    · 3 List Activities: Create lists using standard and color bullets and numbering, take a screenshot, add page borders, and Convert Text to Table.

    · Make an Artist Flyer in Word: Add background color to a page, insert images and text boxes, add a URL to the footer

    · Favorites Newsletter: Make a 3 columns newsletter with lines, add a continuous section break, use Drop Caps

FREE BONUS RESOURCE Zodiac Table: Students learn about zodiac signs, add background color to a page, insert images and text boxes in the table, and change table line colors

Most of these activities can be completed in one 90-minute class. Several activities typically takemore than one class to compete, due to the structure of the activity:

    • Name Card (Day 2 for the final teacher checks and printing, if you choose to print)
    • Block Business Fan Letter (one class for the draft and a second class for corrections and printing)
    • Favorites Newsletter - most students will need 2 classes to complete.
    • Word Vocabulary - students can complete the study guide in one class. Use the supporting materials (crosswords, word searches, fill-in-the-blanks) as desired, for warmups or as time permits in different classes.

All of these resources can be purchased separately. There is also a Basic Intro to Word Bundle that does not include vocabulary.
