Dichotomous Key - Lesson Plan, Presentation, Activities, Assignments

This .zip file contains materials for a middle school science lesson on using and creating dichotomous keys, as part of a unit on the Interactions of Life (Ecology). The unit was designed for 6th graders in NYC.

1 group activity handout materials including pictures, names and dichotomous key
1 group activity student worksheet
1 homework assignment
1 challenging extra credit assignment


Presentations serve as lesson plans that guide the teacher through the entire lesson. Presentations include links to related YouTube videos to increase student engagement (I can help you use YouTube videos in your class, even if your network blocks such sites, just ask).
