Dia de Accion de Gracias - Spanish Lesson about Thanksgiving
- Zip
Description
Students of Spanish II or Spanish I will study about Thanksgiving traditions, foods, and history. Students will also compare/contrast the traditions in the USA to those in Puerto Rico. (Spanish I students will probably need some teacher scaffolding to be successful with this lesson. The vocabulary will be comprehensible, but there are a few incidents of preterite tense in the reading.)
The lesson contains pre-reading activities, vocabulary practice, an original article in easy Spanish, comprehension questions, and a culturally relevant culminating activity. There is also a vocabulary Power Point that contains words and phrases for popular Thanksgiving foods and favorite holiday activities with pictures to illustrate their meaning.
A teacher's guide including standards, an answer key, and two versions (one in color and one black and white) are also included.
