Derby Day is all about horses and Thoroughbred Racing. The Kentucky Derby is highlighted and books about the Preakness Stakes, and the Belmont Stakes will be added as they are published about these special races. This reading room is part of the May Reading Room Bundle.

The new Reading Room is for those of us with the free Epic School Account. Several of the original books were locked when Epic restructured their membership, which is why this second room was created. This room includes 26 links:

The major goal of each Reading Room is to get kids reading about a variety of topics which will expand their knowledge of the world in which they live, while fostering a love for learning. Each eBook library contains 10-20 books to promote student choice in each topic. Books are chosen so that students can read or listen to each story, and then take AR tests. Sources include Epic and You Tube links. It is suggested that students be required to read 3-5 books in each room, and then write a summary of what was learned on that topic.
