Day of the Dead activity based on Juego del calentamiento (The Warmup Game)
Description
This fun activity is designed based on two cultural symbols of the Hispanic world: El día de los muertos (The Day of the Dead), which takes place in Latin America on November 1st and 2nd.
The second cultural symbol that inspired this activity is El juego del calentamiento (The Warm-Up Game), a traditional and playful Latin American song for young children. The song invites students to follow the orders of a “sergeant” who says the commands for students to move given body parts.
To do this activity, we recommend that students sing the song, play, and then create a skeleton that will strike the student’s favorite pose.
