Description

Check out this simple and effective daily number warmup for 7-digit numbers. These Number of the Day slides have been designed for you to use with your students as quick warmup or review of their number sense skills.

All slides require students to use their prior knowledge to answer questions about the Number of the Day with fluency.

Each of the templates included vary to work on different skills, including:

  • Rounding to the nearest 10, 100, 1000
  • + and – 10, 100, 1000
  • Word form
  • Place value Chart
  • Number patterns / skip counting
  • Number sentences
  • Greater than / less than
  • Doubling and halving
  • Partitioning (standard form)
  • Dividing by 2, 5, 10
  • Prime & composite numbers
  • Odd /even

They have been created so you can use them with any 7-digit number using a projector, interactive TV, smartboard or digital display.

This is a resource that you will repeatedly use throughout the year and can be adapted to differentiate for your students.

Recognize that in a multi-digit whole number, a digit in one place represents ten times what it represents in the place to its right. For example, recognize that 700 ÷ 70 = 10 by applying concepts of place value and division.
Read and write multi-digit whole numbers using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form. Compare two multi-digit numbers based on meanings of the digits in each place, using >, =, and < symbols to record the results of comparisons.
Use place value understanding to round multi-digit whole numbers to any place.
Recognize that in a multi-digit number, a digit in one place represents 10 times as much as it represents in the place to its right and 1/10 of what it represents in the place to its left.
Fluently divide multi-digit numbers using the standard algorithm.
