What educators are saying

This was great for my third graders! It was engaging and easy to use. This was also useful during summer tutoring to keep students sharp and prevent the "summer slide".

Description

Looking for some morning work for your third grade students? Try this unit! It is the fifth in my Third Grade Daily Math series. This unit contains 20 days of a Year End Review for third grade students. These sheets are created to provide students with independent practice of the third grade common core standards through the continued study of multiplication (basic and 2-digit by 1-digit), basic division, fractions, area, perimeter, place value (up to 1,000), multi-digit addition & subtraction, measurement, 2-D shapes, time, and money.

Specific skills in this packet include the following:

- multiplication and division within 100.
- solving word problems involving the four operations.
- rounding numbers to the nearest 10 or 100.
- addition and subtraction within 1000.
- multiplying 1-digit whole numbers by multiples of 10.
- understanding equivalent fractions.
- comparing fractions.
- telling time to the nearest minute.
- solving word problems involving volumes.
- answering questions involving picture and bar graphs.
- solving for area and perimeter.

Each page in this packet contains two days of Daily Math, with five questions for each day. Each day covers various Common Core Standards, in the attempt to provide students with a comprehensive review of skills.

These pages can be provided to students at the beginning of a math period, be placed in a math center for independent work, or can be given as homework to students in need of a skill review.

Tell and write time to the nearest minute and measure time intervals in minutes. Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals in minutes, e.g., by representing the problem on a number line diagram.
Measure and estimate liquid volumes and masses of objects using standard units of grams (g), kilograms (kg), and liters (l). Add, subtract, multiply, or divide to solve one-step word problems involving masses or volumes that are given in the same units, e.g., by using drawings (such as a beaker with a measurement scale) to represent the problem.
Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories. Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
Relate area to the operations of multiplication and addition.
Solve real world and mathematical problems involving perimeters of polygons, including finding the perimeter given the side lengths, finding an unknown side length, and exhibiting rectangles with the same perimeter and different areas or with the same area and different perimeters.
