Description

These March Creative Writing Journal Prompt Task Cards are designed to ignite creativity throughout the month of March. They make the perfect warm-up activity, morning work, writing center exercise, or independent work for creative writing time. The prompts are linked to National Days to highlight special holidays, events, and celebrations around the world and connect a writing prompt (genre) to each one.

Observances used happen on the same date every year so these task cards can be used year after year. Laminate for long-lasting use!

For each day, the students in your class will have opportunities to write creatively and expressively about a wide range of topics. Social-emotional prompts have also been included. Students will have the chance to explore personal narratives, letter writing, setting descriptions and more!

Key Features:

  • 31 thoughtfully crafted task cards, offering 2-3 unique prompts for each day of March.
  • Links to observances and special days happening throughout the month to connect writing with real-world events.
  • Encourage children to explore various text types, such as setting descriptions, poetry, recounts + more.
  • Prompts that touch on social and emotional themes, fostering self-awareness and emotional intelligence in students by exploring how their bodies react to different emotions.
