What educators are saying

This resource was super helpful as the dictation words and sentences were already planned! All I had to do was click, purchase, and I had an amazing resource on my hands! Thank you so much for taking the time to create this!
I have used these almost daily with my tutoring students to enforce the phonics patterns their classrooms are learning. Very helpful and concise!

Description

Dictation sentences are one of the best ways for students to show that they have a true understanding of their phonics skills. Each day, you will read aloud focus words and a dictation sentence for students to write in their notebooks. This gives you immediate feedback on whether or not each student has mastered the phonics skill.

Dictation sentences are also a great way to practice handwriting, punctuation, and capitalization.

Using dictation sentences in writing practice allows you to analyze which skills students have mastered, and which skills still need to be reviewed.  When students are able to apply their knowledge in their writing, you know that they have a true understanding.

Daily Dictation Sentences | Phonics & Writing Practice Includes:

  • 190 dictation sentences
  • Sentences follow a logical Science of Reading Scope & Sequence that builds upon previously taught skills.
  • Phonics Skills include:

• short a, e, i o, u

How do I use Daily Dictation Sentences in my classroom?

Read a new dictation sentence each day. Students will write the dictation sentence in their notebooks. You can use this as an informal assessment to see if students understand the phonics skill.  These are great for whole group or small group instruction.
