The students will use fractional squares to construct their Dream Home using colored construction paper. Each piece will be labeled so that the fractional wholes are visible on their house.
They will carefully cut out each piece, and place them where they belong on a large sheet of construction paper which will be the background of their house. Then each piece will be glue down.
They will have to count all of the pieces of each unit fraction.
Then, they will create an improper fraction.
Their improper fraction will be converted into a mixed number!
