DIGITAL STEM Project - Build a Pet Home - Seesaw - Google Slides

Are you looking for a STEM activity that you can do with BOTH your face to face students AND your remote learners?!?! Look no further!! This activity is both DIGITAL & HANDS-ON!! This activity is planned out to last you one week!!

Day 1: Your students will go on a virtual field tip to the animal shelter. They will learn that the animal shelter has too many pets and that they need to create a pet home. They will then learn about what a pet needs to survive. Then, each student or group will then pick a pet to adopt. They will watch a short video or book introducing their pet. They will then answer to questions; What do I know? and What do I need to know?

Day 2: Students will dig deeper! They will research about their pet with videos linked or can utilize the library or internet at their school. It's completely up to you! Students will then "go to the pet store" to build an actual model of their pet's home. Once they see the actual model they will then make a plan to use recyclable materials to make their pet a home. They will research, plan and sketch their pet's home.

Days 3-4: These days are meant to be your HANDS-ON days. Students will work together or solo to build a home for their pet using recyclable materials. They willed to make sure they include what their pet needs to survive.

Day 5: SHARE. Students can share their work digitally or face to face depending on your needs!

You will have access to GOOGLE SLIDES, SEESAW & POWERPOINT!

***Activities comes with audio on the slides for students to listen to instructions in Seesaw.
