More About This Product

This product encourages your students to understand their digital responsibility in regards to plagiarism. The fun, online scavenger hunt allows them to find information on their own and the contract writing assignment allows them to practice their creative writing with a formal tone. This activity allows multiple avenues for use with digital and paper versions and differentiated assignments. Whatever level your students are capable of, they will be able to engage in the lesson to learn about plagiarism and how to prevent it. If your school uses 1-to-1 devices, simply upload the scavenger hunt to Google Classroom and let them click the links to discover everything they need to know about plagiarism. If your students don’t have devices, they can work in small groups or as a whole class to complete the scavenger hunt on paper while viewing the links from group computers or an overhead projector. Once the scavenger hunt is complete, it’s time to start writing the contract using Google Docs. Students are given an example of a contract about chewing bubblegum with braces to see the format and type of information used in contract writing. They’re also provided with the rubric so they can see exactly how they will be scored. And don’t worry, if your students don’t know MLA format yet, there’s a rubric version that doesn’t require it! This product is best designed for upper middle or high school students to help prepare them for formal writing assignments as they move through school.
