Description
If you are anything like me, you want to start off the school year by getting your students excited to learn about Biology! Meeting your students on the first day of school is always exciting, so why not ditch the usual go over the syllabus method and try something new! I've adapted my Biology Bonanza Stations activity into this DIGITAL activity that can be completed in class using student's personal devices or remotely. No matter how you use it, this activity will help you get to know your students better and introduce them to some fun concepts in Biology.
What's included?
- Google Slides presentation in which I have built activities for students to complete.
- Google Form with built in videos and self-checking questions.
- Both versions contain the same content, however I've provided two different digital options for your convenience.
Activity 1: Students will complete an "All About Me" page
Activity 2: What is Biology Anyway?
Students will research the field of Biology and work together to create a
summary statement that describes this field of science.
Activity 3: Hidden in Plain Sight
Students will look closely at 7 different pictures to try and find the
organism that is hidden in plain sight.
Activity 4: Is this for REAL?
Students will read through 16 biology statement cards and decide which are true and which are false. Once they have sorted the cards according to what they think,
they will click a link to reveal the correct answers. Lastly, they will
evaluate their thinking based on how well they were able to identify the
false statements.
The Biology Bonanza is a great way to start off the school year and is a sure way to get your students excited for a fun year in Biology.
