-Cultural responsive teaching is having those difficult conversations with your students. This powerpoint is a great way to go deeper with your morning meeting and make your students’ more aware of the world around them

These are the different sections:
What Do You See? (Kids and Landmarks)
There are two sections one that contains kids around the world and one that contains landmarks. The students will simply talk about what they see in the picture. You can extend their vocabulary by using the sentence stems “I observe” or “I noticed”.
Comparing and Contrasting
How are they the same? How are they different? This is an important skill for all students to practice critical thinking. However, this is an important part of the speaking section on the ACCESS assessment (for ELLs).
What Are They Doing?
Use the pictures to get to know your students and have them connect with their classmates. They will discuss their likes and dislikes.
How Do They Feel?
This is great for SEL and working on empathy. Have students look at a picture and discuss how they think the kid in the picture is feeling by looking at their nonverbal body language. This will help them to be more aware of their classmates’ feelings. This is also great for working on their inference skills.
